thanks for the note ^^
there's a lot of tutorials out there that can help you achieve such results in Pshop

what i do is pretty much the same with in photoshop, except i don't use dodge/burn (but this is advisable for beginners). i always choose several shades lighter/darker than the base color to make it look more 3D. Mine is a mix of cel-style(not really prominent) and airbrush style. i make sure that when i use the airbrush, i check on the 'other dynamics' and 'shape dynamics'in the brush preset tab. i advice this so that you can manipulate the thickness of the brush as you use it--it would vary depending on how much pressure you place on the pen tab. This gives you much control.

hoped that it help a bit. XD

You asked about my coloring method so I'll just put it here:

I color my sketches/inked pictures with color layers of 75% to 90% opacity. It generally depends how strong you want the color to come out, I generally set hair at the higher opacity and skin at a lower one. So start layering your base colors, one layer for skin, one for hair and one for clothes and of course there's your bg. You can start with the bg first or sometimes I strat with the skin layer.

Once your base layers are laid on, I normally shade with the burn/dodge tools. you can play with the shading color that comes out by adjust the mode between "shadow, midtones, highlights"

The brushes I generally use are the calligraphy brushes for a more hard-cut shadow/highlight (like for anime) if you want something softer, there's a second set of softer looking circular brushes.

that's how i do it. Oo....if you have more Q's, feel free to ask me
